Tessa’s Tips

We’d like to introduce you to our chef and registered dietician, Tessa Stamper. Every month, Tessa will share her culinary and healthy eating tips with you right here. This month it’s all about reducing calories, but not reducing flavor.

Here are two of Tessa’s favorite calorie-conscious meals to help you keep your New Year’s resolution.

First up is the Bangkok Curry TRIO with sautéed shrimp and a tossed green side salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

This meal is both sweet and spicy with only 345 calories, along with a whopping 14 grams of protein. It’s heavy on the fresh veggies, and features a sweet coconut curry wok tossed with shrimp, broccoli, carrots, red pepper, onion, mushrooms and a light portion of rice noodles.

Or if you’re on the go, try something hand-held. The Med Sandwich is made with fresh vegetables and features sautéed mushrooms, red bell peppers, spinach, red onions and crunchy cucumber, all topped with our zippy Med dressing, cilantro and feta cheese on a warm flat bread. Order the sandwich as a ‘Duo’ and add a cucumber tomato salad on the side for a complete meal.

The Med Sandwich Duo with a Cucumber Tomato Salad will cost you only 420 calories and gives you 25 grams of protein.

    I love it when you show pictures of the items so we know what they are
    I am going to stop in tommorrow and order that bankcok curry bowl of noodles it looks yummy! Next week the sandwich as that looks good too

    When will Noodles and Company start offering the wheat pasta. To my knowledge the only offering is the linguini. With obesity being what it is in the United States and the U.S. goal being to significantly reduce obesity in our children by 2015, it would seem important for restaurants to jump on board with the plan and make great strides to provide dishes that are more appropriate in reducing the fat and calorie intake.

      Thank you for your comment. We offer menu items that are indulgent as well as healthful, which is very important to us. That’s right- the whole wheat linguine is featured in the Whole Wheat Tuscan Linguine. Also, all of our bowls are customizable and our whole wheat linguine may be substituted to any of our dishes. For example, if you’d like Mushroom Stroganoff, Penne Rosa, Pasta Fresca, or any other dish made with the whole wheat linguine, we can do it. We are currently in the works of researching other whole wheat pasta options to add to our menu.

    Thanks so much for designing dishes that are included the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and their Dining Out Guide. My husband just joined Weight Watchers this week, and we’re so glad Noodles has been evaluated for their program. It will make his efforts easier.

    I really want to try Med Salad and Med Veggie Sandwich. But, your nutrition and allergen page shows that both items contain eggs. So, could you provide me exact ingredient of both items, so that, I can customize it for my need.

      Hi Nayan,

      Thank you for your comment. The egg is in our Med Dressing, which is featured in both the Med Salad and the Veggie Med Sandwich. You could order each item with a different dressing such as the Fat Free Asian Vinaigrette.
